The 2021 Toyota Hilux could get a new engine. The Japanese manufacturer still refuses to confirm these speculations. Until that happens, Hilux will surely continue to ride on a standard 2.7-liter gasoline unit. This engine delivers 165 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, a 2.4-liter turbodiesel is available.
This unit is, however, standard on the mid-range trim levels. If you want the most powerful output, opt for a 2.8-liter diesel that generates 175 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. No matter which engine you choose, a 6-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard. Manual transmission is no longer on the offer. Stay tuned, as we wait for Toyota to introduce a new powertrain option.

The angular design remains, which is a good thing.
This time, Hilux will get more SUV-like cues. That includes new headlights, larger grille, and reshaped taillights. Thanks to the numerous trim levels, Hilux will be one of the easy-to-customize models. The design looks sportier and upper trim levels will get new wheels. There will be three cab configurations. A regular cab, extended cab, and double cab. The current model offers six exterior paints. The 2021 Hilux will get at least two new colors. Like the Tacoma model, the upcoming 2021 Toyota Hilux model will get the new TRD offroad version that will be sportier than the base model.
Standard and Optional Features
Serious interior changes are about to happen. The forthcoming 2021 Toyota Hilux will get an all-new cabin. That includes new upholstery, displays and latest version of the infotainment system. Toyota will offer a larger infotainment display that comes with simpler interface. Most of the functions are on the display so expect fewer buttons this time.
New Hilux will keep the current interior layout. That means the seating configuration unchanged. New air vents, more chrome trims, and new cloth upholstery are available. Optional leather seats are intact for 2021. List of the standard features is longer than before. New vinyl flooring is optional, along with the larger touchscreen. Dashboard and instrument cluster will mostly remain but you can expect small modifications.
