2021 Cadillac XT5 Specs, Price, and Photos. The mid-size Cadillac XT5 is the best-selling model in the brand’s growing SUV range. The recently added XT6 and XT4 and upcoming, all-new Cadillac Escalade are well-positioned in their class but the XT5 is also well-rated among the alternatives such as the Audi Q5, Lexus RX, Mercedes GLE and Jaguar F-Pace.

The mid-size XT5 was all-new for the 2017 model year and the model received the mid-cycle update for the 2020 version. 2021 Cadillac XT5 Powertrains

The 2021 Cadillac XT5 will offer both the turbocharged and V-6 power alongside the front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The 2020 model year brought a new standard 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine producing 237 hp and torque of 258 pound-feet. This is the same unit found in the smaller Xt4 and paired with the nine-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged unit will be available with both and two- and all-wheel drive.

The optional V-6 engine will skip the base trim and be available in the mid-range XT5 or standard in the Sport trim. A 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V-6 makes 310 hp and torque of 271 pound-feet. The engine is also mixed with the 9-speed automatic transmission. With the front-wheel drive, this engine should return 19 mpg city or 26 mpg highway. Switching to the power on all wheels will cost 1 mpg from each city and highway ratings.

2021 Cadillac XT5 Design

The first-generation Cadillac XT5 is designed around GM’s C1XX platform which is also the base of the GMC Acadia and Chevy Blazer.

From the visual perceptive, the model gets attention with the business-like appearance which with the recent refresh has been brought in line with the brand’s newer XT4 and XT5 models.

The model comes with the shield-shaped grille with a distinctive mesh pattern depending on the version. The eye-catchy vertical signature LEDs are also part of the model’s identity. The rear side of the model also looks modern and attention gets the shield-like sculpted tailgate and angular taillights. The model will also offer attractive wheel designs ranging from 18- to 20 inches.

Interior, Equipment

The 2021 model year won’t also bring much new inside the cabin of the model. The XT5 got an upgraded infotainment system and redesigned center console for the 2020 model year and more standard features.

The XT5 has attractive interior and dash design while passengers will also enjoy in the well-shaped seats. The model also provides 63 cubic feet of the cargo space or 30 cubes with the rear seats up.

As for the available equipment, the base version will come with the power front seats, simulated leather padding, a Bose sound system, etc. The new generation infotainment system operated via the center console-mounted rotary control will also be available in every version with an 8-inch center display and support for Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The base trim won’t lack active safety systems and standard will be forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning.

The mid-range trim will switch to the leather upholstery adding also a hands-free tailgate, automatic wipers, safety extras and options like adaptive suspension, etc. There will also be blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, ventilated seats and more.

The range-topping Sport version as the name suggests adds sports styling cues and upgrades such as the sport-turned suspension, adaptive dampers, standard all-wheel drive and V-6 engine, etc.

2021 Cadillac XT5 Release, Price

The 2021 Cadillac XT5 will go on sale around the mid-2020. The price should stay close to the current range.

The base XT5 should start around $45, 000. The mid-range version will close to $50, 000. For the range-topping model, buyers should be ready to pay around $56, 000. The optional V-6 engine will need an additional $1000 to replace the base turbo-4 while the all-wheel drive will cost $2000 more than the front-wheel drive.
